Little Acorns Summer Camps is a magical summer experience designed especially for children ages 4 - 6. Created with Pre-K and Kindergarten campers in mind, this camp offers a wide variety of fun, age-appropriate activities that will keep children moving, laughing and enjoying the summer. Camp meets Monday through Thursday at Shafor Park and focuses on active play, creativity and making new friends in a safe and supportive environment.
There will be one snack time provided during the camp. If you child has dietary limits or food allergies, please make sure to inform camp counselors the first day of camp. You are welcome to provide your child with his/her own snack for camp also.
Parents are required to complete a Participation Form, which is linked on MyRec. Please complete this form after registration and either email it to hayes@oakwoodohio.gov or turn it in to the Camp Counselors the first day of camp. Be sure to provide a valid email address when registering, as all camp communication will be sent electronically.
Space is limited, so register early to ensure your child doesn't miss out on the fun!
Theme: Space Camp: Mission to Mars
Blast off on an out-of-this-world adventure!
Young astronauts will explore space through fun games, crafts, and movement activities. Campers will pretend to travel to Mars, build rockets, learn about planets, and complete exciting “missions.” This camp encourages curiosity, teamwork, and imaginative play in a safe and supportive environment.

Dates: June 15, 2026 - June 18, 2026
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
Theme: America 250: Explore America
A fun journey across the USA!
Campers will explore America through stories, music, crafts, and games inspired by different states and landmarks. From famous symbols to simple geography, kids will learn about our country in hands-on, age-appropriate ways while celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Dates: June 29, 2026 - July 2, 2026
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
Theme: ArtVenture
Create, explore, and get colorful!
ArtVenture lets young artists experiment with painting, drawing, sculpting, and mixed-media projects. Campers will use their imagination to create masterpieces while learning about colors, textures, and shapes. This camp builds creativity, fine motor skills, and self-expression—no experience needed!

Dates: July 13, 2026 - July 16, 2026
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
Theme: Spy Camp
Calling all secret agents!
Campers will become junior spies as they solve simple mysteries, complete obstacle missions, and practice sneaky skills through games and crafts. With decoding activities, teamwork challenges, and imaginative play, kids will learn problem-solving, cooperation, and confidence—all while having undercover fun.
