Pre-Kinder/Kindergarten Youth Basketball (ages 5 & 6)
This league is geared toward the younger players. Players will practice basic fundamentals including shooting, free throws, dribbling and defense. This league will have an emphasis on education, sportsmanship and teamwork. No league or individual stats or standings are maintained. Teams will be co-ed.
Volunteer coaches needed!! All youth coaches will be REQUIRED to complete the City’s Volunteer Applicant’s Request/Waiver to Release Information form, sign the “City of Oakwood Parks & Recreation Volunteer Coach “Code of Conduct”, and complete a coaches’ application before the season starts. All forms can be found on our MyRec page, picked up at the OCC, or email hayes@oakwoodohio.gov. Completed forms can be turned in to the OCC or emailed to hayes@oakwoodohio.gov.

Siblings will be placed on the same team unless otherwise specified. All other requests are "NOT" guaranteed!! All requests must be made before the registration deadline.
All teams will have one weeknight (Monday - Thursday) practice and one weekend (Saturday) practice or game. Teams could practice at any time between 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. on the weekdays. Saturday practices/games can be anywhere from 8:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.
A mandatory coaches meeting will be held Monday, November 23, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. This meeting will be held at the OCC. All schedules, rosters and rules will be given out at this meeting. If you cannot attend, please email hayes@oakwoodohio.gov ASAP.
