Staying Strong as We Age:  Protecting Muscle, Metabolism and Independence
Presented by:  Dr. Esra Shermadou

A practical talk on how muscle, metabolism and strength change with age - and what you can do to maintain independence, prevent falls and stay active.  We'll cover simple strategies around strength training, protein intake and daily habits that support long-term health.

Dr. Esra Shermadou is a board-certified Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine physician and founder of Sakinah Health.  She specializes in physician-led weight loss and metabolic care with a focus on preserving muscle, improving metabolic health and supporting long-term strength and longevity.  Through her clinical work and community education, she helps adults lose fat safely, protect muscle and build sustainable health for the future.
